RAchel Mills

Rachel would describe herself as insightful, humorous, and empathetic. Those traits are what led her to pursue her degrees, a Bachelors of Psychology and a Masters in Holistic Child Development, through Lee University in Cleveland, TN.

Rachel was born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan and has also lived in Tennessee for 6 years while attending college and working at a behavioral health institute with children and teens. After moving back, she has filled the role of foster care case worker, adoption specialist, and a case aid to the Adoption department at Youth Guidance Foster Care & Adoption Center, through CityLinC, located downtown Battle Creek.

She is the oldest of two, is married to David who also is a local, and has two beautiful girls Thea (2.5 years) and Evie (6 months). Rachel was practically raised at Dexter Lake since she was born and has been an official member since 2002. Since her roots run deep at Dexter Lake she desires to minister to the staff and community through helping wherever possible. Rachel enjoys spending time with family, playing card and board games like Catan and Euchre, watching movies, and learning more about pregnancy/home birth (as both her daughters were born at home) and educating women on their choices when possible. One of her favorite verses is Proverbs 1:7, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction” and it helps to guide her desire to understand herself and others, and to grow in Christ.
